Using Prefabricated House is free of charge for prospective builders. For qualified enquiries, participating construction or advisory partners may pay a referral fee. Operator, ownership and partner relationships are marked separately.

Backed by data

Price figures come from published manufacturer documents and are marked as "from" prices with the date they were collected. Worked examples state their assumptions.

Regularly updated

Every article carries a visible update date. Articles on subsidies, interest rates and prices are revised when programmes or the market change, not just once a year.

Open to corrections

Mistakes happen — we correct them quickly and transparently. Feedback reaches the editorial team via the contact form; technical disputes are resolved by our expert team.

As a civil engineer with a doctorate, Dr. Anna Schäfer spent more than ten years managing single-family home projects before moving into editorial work — from shell-construction planning through to handover, including the defects report. This on-site experience shapes her articles: she does not describe the ideal course of a house build, but rather the points where things go wrong in practice, and shows how building families can avoid them.

For our portal she is responsible for the guides on the construction process, building contracts and building handover, as well as the technical comparisons of construction methods. Her standard: every recommendation must be traceable to a standard, a legal basis or documented practical experience.

For technical queries, the editorial team consults the accompanying panel of experts, who hold a TÜV Rheinland certified qualification in real estate valuation. For all price figures the following applies: starting prices serve as guide values for comparison — only the written manufacturer's offer is binding.
