Terhalle Ecobouw: what is behind the brand
Terhalle Ecobouw is the Dutch branch of the Terhalle group and, according to its website, opened in 2021 in Hengelo (Overijssel). The parent company Terhalle was founded in 1986 as a carpentry and produces at its main site in Ahaus-Ottenstein, Germany, less than ten kilometres from Enschede. The group has around 600 staff.
Construction uses prefabricated timber-frame building, hybrid on request. Prefabricated wall, ceiling and roof elements and, in part, 3D modules are made in the company's own factory and assembled on site. The building concept is described as circular and biobased, with FSC-certified wood, insulation such as cellulose or wood fibre, and an airtight, vapour-open construction.
The range includes terraced houses, patio houses, semi-detached houses, detached houses, barn houses and flats. The main construction activity is in Germany, while the Dutch branch realises projects with partners in the Netherlands.
